Situation

A large University Medical Centre based in the city centre with outdated infrastructure, too small to service the growing population. The existing facility could no longer meet the demands of a growing regional population and required complete infrastructure redesign.

Challenge

Developing new infrastructure on the original city centre location with limited space, while building out capacity to address future population needs and positioning the UMC as a large referral centre for the region. Balancing space constraints with the need to future-proof the institution as a national referral hub.
